The Government has made it mandatory for all Food Business Operators to coordinate and register for a Food licence through the FSSAI. What has the FSSAI been doing in Rajasthan?

What is the procedure for the FSSAI Registration?

FSSAI Registration is started by submitting Form A to the Food and Safety Department. The Department can either accept or reject the application, in an hour after it's submission, but have to provide their reason for rejecting it, to the applicant in writing. If they accept the application, the Department permits and grants a registration certificate, with a registration number, and a photo of the applicant.

Food Business Operators have to display their certificate of registration at the place of business during the business hours.

What are the requirements for the FSSAI food registration certificate?

Depending on the annual turnover of the FBO, they should apply for the right licence.

  • Minor retailer's dealing with food products.
  • Any person who manufactures or sells food articles on their own.
  • Limited stallholder working on selling food.
  • An individual distributing food in any spiritual or social gathering except a caterer.
  • Online food product sellers require the FSSAI Food Registration Certificate (Zomato, Swiggy, Foodpanda, Amazon, Paytm, Flipkart, etc.).
